Jennifer Powell

Jennifer Powell has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Jennifer started their career in journalism, working as a reporter for the Norwich Bulletin and later the Waterbury Republican-American. Jennifer then transitioned to a role as a development writer at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

In 1999, Jennifer joined the Boston Herald as a business reporter and eventually became a columnist, focusing on small business matters and entrepreneurship. Jennifer held this position until 2012, when they began working as a communications professional at Ella Health.

From 2011 to 2017, Jennifer also served as a leader for Troop 66700 in the Girl Scouts, demonstrating their role as a mentor and guide for young girls.

In 2015, Jennifer joined The Language of Business television program as a communication strategist. Here, they played a key role in enhancing the show's visibility and credibility through content creation and public relations efforts.

In 2018, Jennifer started a new chapter as the Chair of the Winthrop School Committee, where they oversee the budget, policies, and management of the Winthrop School System.

Lastly, Jennifer has been a principal at The Excellent Writers Group since 2008, where they work with emerging and growing companies to develop and implement effective communication plans. Jennifer leads online workshops to empower business owners and communication specialists in transforming their marketing communications.

Jennifer Powell earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the years 1984-1988. Jennifer is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University, expected to be completed in 2022.
