Matt Salter has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Matt began their career as an Electrical Engineer at McKay Electrical, where they installed domestic and industrial electrical equipment, managed staff, and liaised with clients. Matt then worked as a Rugby Player/Coach at Queen City Rugby Club in Denver, USA, before moving on to Cableship as a Site Supervisor.

Following this, Salter joined Comunica as a Site Manager, where they were responsible for the operational team and financial performance of larger installation projects. Matt later became a Project Manager and then a Senior Project Manager at the company, overseeing tender responses and presentations.

Salter then worked at Redstone Converged Solutions as an Operations Manager, ensuring safety, quality, and timely project delivery. Matt later became the Projects Director, overseeing Project Managers and Site Managers and ensuring client requests were dealt with professionally.

At Redstone, Salter held various roles, including Delivery Director and Operations Director. In these positions, they developed operational strategies, directed and motivated staff, and developed business plans and budgets to achieve financial targets.

Most recently, Salter worked as a Sales Director at Onnec, where they developed new strategies and plans for future growth, met sales targets globally, and built better customer relationships. Throughout their career, Salter has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to achieve targets and satisfy customer needs without compromising company profits.

Matt Salter completed their 6th Form Certificate at Whangarei Boys High School from 1985 to 1988. Matt then pursued an apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering at Wellington College of Education from 1989 to 1992.
