Molly Best Thorp

Molly Best Thorp is an experienced communications professional currently serving as Deputy Press Secretary at the Executive Office of the Governor since February 2025. Prior to this role, Thorp held the position of Director of Communications at the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles from February 2023 to February 2025, and served as Deputy Communications Director at both the Florida Department of Corrections and the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. Thorp’s career in law enforcement communications began with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, where multiple roles included Criminal Justice Information Consultant II and Public Information Officer. Earlier experience includes communications supervision at the Temple Terrace Police Department and roles as a Telecommunicator III and 911 Dispatcher with the Plant City and Key West Police Departments, respectively.
