Matthew Blain

Matthew Blain is the HR Director at Exemplar Health Care. He oversees the HR function which is responsible for recruitment, selection, talent management, organisational development and health and wellbeing. He oversees the HR Team, Recruitment Team and Learning and Organisational Development Team.

Matthew has over twenty years’ experience working in HR across a range of private and public sector organisations.

He’s a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and a Doctor of Business Administration.

Before joining Exemplar Health Care in 2022, Matthew held senior HR leadership roles with AstraZeneca, Compass Group, Walgreens Boots Alliance, and University College London.

He has also sat on the advisory board for Nottingham Business School and being a RemCo member for Loughborough College.

Matthew is passionate about people and providing environments, opportunities and cultures where people can be their authentic self at work and are nurtured through career development and lifelong learning.

Matthew and his team oversees the company’s comprehensive learning and organisational development offer and health and wellbeing support programme, as well as leading the recruitment of new colleagues and advising on employment matters.
