Work Based Tutor And Lecturer at Exeter College

Chris Barron is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE) with a varied work experience in the engineering industry. Chris currently works as a Work Based Tutor and Lecturer at Exeter College, starting in April 2022. Prior to this, Chris was an Associate Director at WSP in the UK from October 2021 to April 2022.

From April 2020 to October 2021, Chris worked as an Associate Director at Hamson Barron Smith, specializing in Structural & Civil Engineering. Before that, they held the position of Associate Civil Engineer at the same company from June 2017 to April 2020.

Chris also gained experience as a Principal Engineer at Jacobs from June 2015 to June 2017. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer at Robson Liddle Limited from September 2014 to June 2015.

Their other roles include Senior Engineer at Jacobs from June 2013 to September 2014, Project Manager (Secondment) at South West Water from March 2013 to June 2013, and Engineer at Parsons Brinckerhoff from January 2008 to March 2013.

Chris began their career at Cornwall Council as a Technician, where they worked from September 2000 to January 2008.

Chris Barron CEng MICE completed their education in the field of Civil Engineering. From 2004 to 2007, they attended the University of the West of England, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree (BSc Hons) in Civil Engineering. Additionally, they obtained the certification of Chartered Member of the ICE from the Engineering Council in May 2019.
