Stephan Harrison

Professor In Climate And Environmental Change at Exeter University

Stephan Harrison is a Professor in Climate and Environmental Change at Exeter University since July 2019, focusing on climate impacts in high mountain regions. With a long-standing career in climate science, Stephan has also served as the Director of Climate Change Risk Management at Climate Change Risk Management Ltd since January 2002. Previous academic roles include Lecturer at University of Oxford from 2002 to 2005 and Reader in Quaternary Science at Coventry University from 1995 to 2002. Stephan's research includes extensive fieldwork, completing 17 expeditions to Patagonia and the high Andes, as well as 11 field seasons in the Himalayas and Tien Shan mountains. Stephan holds a BSc and PhD in Physical Geography and Quaternary Science from the University of Leicester.
