Fabien Courchesne

Fabien Courchesne has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Fabien started their career as a Software Designer at Kontron from 1994 to 1997. Later, they joined SR Telecom and worked there from 1997 to 2007, designing and implementing PHY and MAC for the air link section. Fabien also created new functions and drivers for the existing system.

In 2008, Fabien worked for SR Telecom & CO (Lagassé Technologie) as a Software Designer, focusing on the WIMAX d and WIMAX e wireless systems. Fabien conducted system tests, ensured stability and robustness, and implemented and verified MAC messages.

From 2010 to 2014, Fabien worked at Bluestreak Technology as an Embedded Software Designer. Here, they developed plugins to support the integration of rich media services into digital televisions and set-top boxes. Fabien worked on projects involving platforms like Linux, QT, Webkit, GStreamer, and embedded engines.

Since 2014, Fabien has been associated with EXFO as a Principal Designer in the Software Group. Fabien is responsible for creating low-level drivers to control hardware and utilizing management interfaces like SFF or CMIS to communicate with optics. Fabien also defines and implements new tools for hardware and optics control.

Fabien Courchesne completed their DEC in Electronics at Collège de l'Outaouais from 1986 to 1989. Fabien then went on to earn their Baccalauréat in Electrical Engineering from École de technologie supérieure from 1989 to 1993.
