Andreas Markou has had a diverse range of work experiences. Andreas currently works as a Payments Analyst at Exness. Prior to this, they worked at Berenberg as a Research Analyst, specializing in EU Mid Cap companies with a focus on IT software and services. At Berenberg, they also gained extensive investment banking experience and was the lead analyst for several IPOs. Before their time at Berenberg, they worked at Nomura as a Research Analyst, where they assisted with financial model updates, client requests, and data collection. Andreas also produced detailed reports on various topics, including litigation, capital and regulation, and central bank data releases. Andreas started their career as an intern at Bank of America, Cyprus Investment and Securities Organization, and KPMG. Additionally, they served as an Army Officer in the Cyprus National Military Force, where they were responsible for main battle tanks.
Andreas Markou has an extensive education history in the field of finance. Andreas first attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2004 to 2007, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Accounting and Finance. Subsequently, they pursued further education at the University of Cambridge, where they completed their Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Finance from 2007 to 2008. Andreas then continued their studies at the same institution and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Finance from 2008 to 2013. In 2012, during their PhD studies, they also had the opportunity to be a visiting PhD student at New York University, further expanding their knowledge in the field.
