William Wong

William Wong has over 18 years of work experience. From 2003 to 2006, they worked as a Research Engineer at IMRA America, Inc. William then went on to become a Staff Software Engineer at Brion Technologies, Inc. from 2006 to 2011. From 2011 to 2016, they worked as a Data Scientist at Bloomberg LP. William then moved on to become a Data Scientist at Ayasdi from 2016 to 2019. William then worked as a Data Science Manager at Wayfair from 2019 to 2021. Their current role is Head of Data Science at EXO Freight, which they have held since 2022.

William Wong obtained their Bachelor of Applied Science from The University of British Columbia in 1993, majoring in Engineering Physics and Electrical Engineering. William then went on to obtain their S.M. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1995. William continued their studies at the same university and obtained their Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 1999. In 2012, they attended New York University for Mathematics in Finance. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications from Coursera, including A Crash Course in Causality: Inferring Causal Effects from Observational Data in 2019, Probabilistic Graphical Models 1: Representation in 2017, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization in 2017, and Neural Networks and Deep Learning in 2017.
