Principal Research Associate at Exo Therapeutics

Omar Magid has a diverse work experience in the field of research and development. Omar is currently working as a Principal Research Associate at Exo Therapeutics since February 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Proteostasis Therapeutics, Inc. from September 2016 to August 2020, where they served as a Cell Culture Specialist, Biosafety Officer, and Lab Manager. From March 2010 to April 2012, Omar worked as a Scientific Associate II (Temp.) at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research. Here, they established a stock of cell lines for the department and developed cellular assays used for compound efficacy profiling. Omar gained experience with automated liquid handling equipment.

Omar's early work experience includes working as a Senior Screening Specialist (combination HTS) at CombinatoRx, Inc. (currently Horizon CombinatoRx) from June 2001 to April 2008. Omar has extensive experience with mammalian cell culture and has developed and executed various oncology cell-based and biochemical assays using immunoassays such as ECL, DELFIA TRF, and HTRF.

Omar Magid attended Boston University from 1989 to 1993. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Laboratory and Clinical Sciences.
