Waide Jones

Waide Jones is the vice president and chief information security officer at Exostar. Waide has over 17 years of experience in the field of cyber security.

Waide began their career at Lockheed Martin in April 1998 as a program manager and chief engineer. In this role, they led a 15-person team that was responsible for incorporating cyber security into the Lockheed Martin supply chain of 30,000 suppliers. Waide also developed the concept of operations, requirements, and schedule to influence external partners and suppliers cyber security posture and practices while minimizing the impact of adverse effects to LM data and products/services.

In October 2015, Waide left Lockheed Martin to join Exostar as their VP & Chief Information Security Officer. In this role, they are responsible for leading Exostar’s information security program and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Exostar’s systems and data. Waide also works with Exostar’s customers, partners, and suppliers to ensure their cyber security posture is adequate to protect against threats.

Waide Jones holds a Masters in Telecommunications/Management Information Systems from George Mason University, a Bachelors in Management Information Systems/Decision Sciences from George Mason University - School of Business, and an Associates in Management Information Systems from Brigham Young University - Idaho. Waide Jones is also certified by the EC-Council as a Certified Ethical Hacker and by the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional. Additionally, Waide Jones holds certifications from Lockheed Martin as a Control Account Manager and from the National Security Agency as an Information Security Assessment Methodologist.
