Jeroen Vaassen has extensive experience in the hospitality industry, with a focus on revenue management and technology. Jeroen is the founder and CEO of Yerun, a company they established in 2017. In 2021, they co-founded Expect Me, a travel tech startup where they currently serve as the COO.
Prior to this, Vaassen held the role of interim COO at Joonze, a travel technology and marketing startup, where they were responsible for commercial strategy, investor planning, and technology development. Jeroen also served as the Executive Vice President of Revenue Optimization (interim) at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in 2017-2018, where they implemented a new pricing and distribution strategy and developed a roadmap for global revenue management.
Before that, Vaassen worked at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. for several years in various revenue management leadership roles. Jeroen transformed the revenue management function for the Asia Pacific region, leading a team responsible for 330+ hotels. Jeroen also led revenue management teams in the Middle East and Spain & Portugal, participating in hotel openings and implementing new technology platforms.
Vaassen's career in the hospitality industry began in 1999 as a Management Trainee at Hotel Maria Cristina. Jeroen gained operational experience as an Operational Trainee at Hotel Carrera in 1998.
Jeroen Vaassen completed their Bachelor's degree in International Hotel Management from the Hotel Management School Maastricht, from the year 1995 to 1999. Jeroen also obtained several additional certifications throughout their career, including a Certified Revenue Management Executive (CRME) from HSMAI in January 2016, Managing Complexities from INSEAD Executive Education in May 2011, and a Six Sigma Green Belt from Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. in March 2005.
