Job Description

• Customs Documentation Preparation: Assist in the preparation of customs declarations and other required documents.

• Data Entry: Accurately enter line items and shipment details into customs software and databases.

• File Compilation: Organize and compile all necessary documentation for customs clearance processes.

• Basic Compliance Checks: Perform basic checks to ensure documentation complies with customs regulations.

• Support for Senior Brokers: Provide administrative support to senior customs brokers, assisting with routine tasks.

• Customs Clearance Coordination: Coordinate the customs clearance process, ensuring timely and compliant entry of goods.

• HTS Code Classification: Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and ensure accuracy in documentation.

• Intermediate Compliance Review: Conduct detailed compliance reviews of documentation to ensure adherence to regulations.

• Vendor and Client Communication: Communicate with vendors and clients to resolve documentation issues and provide updates

Qualifications

• Experience working in freight forwarding, shipping line, or brokerage firms, either locally or internationally

• Familiar with shipping documents (BOLs, AWBs, PKLs, invoices, etc.)

• Detail-oriented with experience in data entry and data validation tasks

• Comfortable with modern software, technology, and computer systems

• Familiarity with Transport Management Systems (TMS), especially Cargowise or Magaya

• Graduate of Customs Administration or similar degree program

• Licensed customs broker

• Ability to effectively communicate ideas clearly and concisely in English, both in speaking and writing (C1)

• Client management experience is a plus
