Job Description
Customs Documentation Preparation: Assist in the preparation of customs declarations and other required documents.
Data Entry: Accurately enter line items and shipment details into customs software and databases.
File Compilation: Organize and compile all necessary documentation for customs clearance processes.
Basic Compliance Checks: Perform basic checks to ensure documentation complies with customs regulations.
Support for Senior Brokers: Provide administrative support to senior customs brokers, assisting with routine tasks.
Customs Clearance Coordination: Coordinate the customs clearance process, ensuring timely and compliant entry of goods.
HTS Code Classification: Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and ensure accuracy in documentation.
Intermediate Compliance Review: Conduct detailed compliance reviews of documentation to ensure adherence to regulations.
Vendor and Client Communication: Communicate with vendors and clients to resolve documentation issues and provide updates
Qualifications
Experience working in freight forwarding, shipping line, or brokerage firms, either locally or internationally
Familiar with shipping documents (BOLs, AWBs, PKLs, invoices, etc.)
Detail-oriented with experience in data entry and data validation tasks
Comfortable with modern software, technology, and computer systems
Familiarity with Transport Management Systems (TMS), especially Cargowise or Magaya
Graduate of Customs Administration or similar degree program
Licensed customs broker
Ability to effectively communicate ideas clearly and concisely in English, both in speaking and writing (C1)
Client management experience is a plus
Remote Work Technical Requirements
Must be able to provide and support their own computer hardware, software, and internet. The minimum technical requirements for remote work at Expedock are the following:
