Ged Plata, CPHR, CRSP

Ged Plata is a seasoned HR professional with extensive experience in various roles and industries. They began their career in 2007 as a Human Resources Assistant at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, where they assisted in administering company and government benefits and handled expatriate documentation. They then moved on to Diamond Hotel Philippines in 2008 as an HR Staff member, performing similar duties. In 2009, they joined Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila once again, this time as an HR Assistant at the supervisory level. Here, they were responsible for administering benefits and handling expatriate documentation.

In 2012, Ged Plata took on the role of an Instructor at AMA University, where they shared their expertise in the field of HR. They then joined IBM in 2013 as an HR Specialist - Benefits Service Owner, specializing in benefits administration. Later in 2013, they transitioned to Astoria Hotels and Resorts as an HR Supervisor, overseeing HR processes.

In 2014, Ged Plata joined Vikings Luxury Buffet as an HR Officer, continuing their HR journey. They then moved on to Vanguard Hotels Pte Ltd in 2017, starting as an HR Assistant Manager and eventually becoming a Human Resources Manager in 2018. During their time at Vanguard Hotels, they implemented HR functions, systems, and processes, managed employee engagement programs, and executed talent acquisition strategies.

In 2019, they joined Lightworks Ventures Pte Ltd as a Human Resources Manager, taking on responsibilities such as developing HR strategies, managing payroll, conducting performance appraisals, and ensuring compliance with labor laws. They were later promoted to the role of Director of People & Culture, where they led recruitment efforts, developed HR policies, and maintained a high level of engagement and culture across the team.

Currently, Ged Plata is working at Expertise.com as an HR & Recruitment Manager, responsible for growing the company's offshore freelancing team, addressing concerns between the onshore management team and offshore freelancers, and implementing HR strategies in alignment with the company's overall business strategy.

Ged Plata, CPHR, CRSP has a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management (BS HRM) from Centro Escolar University, which they obtained from 2002 to 2006. Their field of study during this time was focused on Hospitality. In 2019, Ged enrolled in AMA University and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.

In terms of additional certifications, Ged has obtained the "Giving and Receiving Feedback" certification from LinkedIn in July 2022. Ged also holds a "Certificate of Eligibility - Career Service Subprofessional" from the Civil Service Commission, which they achieved in September 2003. Furthermore, Ged is planning to obtain the "Org chart Power User" certification from Time is Ltd. in 2023, although the exact month is not specified.
