Business Relationship Lead – DACH at Explora Journeys

Jean-Marc Serex has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Jean-Marc began their career as a Crew member at McDonald's Corporation from 2005 to 2006. Jean-Marc then worked as a Food and Beverage Intern at Baur au Lac in 2010. In 2011, they served as a VIP Staff member at Caprices Festival.

From 2012 to 2013, Jean-Marc worked as a Sales and Products Representative at Krabi Spesialisten Co. Ltd, where they were responsible for managing and negotiating with agencies and wholesalers to increase income and revenue. In the same year, they also worked as a Marketing Communication Coordinator at Grand Hyatt Shanghai, where they contributed to the department's sales and revenue targets.

Jean-Marc joined Booking.com in 2014 and held two roles during their tenure. Jean-Marc started as a Hotel Coordinator, providing support to accommodation partners and training them on the effective use of Booking.com's platform. Jean-Marc later became an Account Manager, consulting key partners in the accommodation industry to optimize their business performance, revenue, and customer satisfaction.

In 2018, Jean-Marc joined MSC Cruises as a Key Account Manager. Jean-Marc'sresponsibilities included managing and developing a portfolio of important travel agencies and tour operators to achieve sales targets. Jean-Marc also participated in sales strategy planning and represented the interests of accounts while enforcing pricing and distribution approaches.

Currently, Jean-Marc is working at Explora Journeys as the Business Relationship Lead for the DACH region, a position they began in 2022.

Jean-Marc Serex's education history begins in 2004 when they attended Gymnase Auguste Piccard for an unspecified degree or field of study. From 2007 to 2009, they attended Ecole Alpahlif and obtained a Swiss Baccalaureate, majoring in Economy and Law. In 2009, they attended Metropolitan College of New York and received a Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English.

In 2010, Jean-Marc Serex enrolled in two institutions simultaneously. Jean-Marc attended Glion Institute of Higher Education until 2014, where they completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and a Bachelor of Applied Science (BSc) in Hospitality Administration/Management. Jean-Marc also attended Les Roches from 2010 to 2012 and obtained a Diploma in Hospitality Management.

In 2011, Jean-Marc Serex attended the University of Illinois at Chicago for a summer course in English Language and Literature. During the same year, they obtained a WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). In 2012, they obtained a WSET Level 2 Award in Wine Service.

Jean-Marc Serex's additional certifications include a Summer Course Certificate from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2011 and a Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English from the University of Cambridge in 2010.
