Managing Scientist at Exponent

Abigail Oelker has a strong background in polymer science and materials chemistry. Abigail started their career at Boston University as a Doctoral Student, where they focused on the design of hydrogels for surgical adhesives and corneal implants. Abigail then joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Postdoctoral Associate, where they worked on the development of hydrogels for studying cell-biomaterial interactions and fabricating thin film polymer devices. Currently, they are a Managing Scientist at Exponent, specializing in product development and failure analysis solutions for clients in various industries. Abigail utilizes their expertise in chemicals and materials characterization to assist with materials selection, deformulation, and failure analysis of polymer films and other materials.

Abigail Oelker completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at Lehigh University from 1998 to 2002. Abigail then pursued further education and earned their PhD in Chemistry from Boston University between 2003 and 2009.
