Senior Managing Engineer at Exponent

Chris Buehler, PhD, PE has extensive experience in the field of engineering, specifically in investigating fires and explosions as well as analyzing chemical fate. Chris currently serves as the Director for the AIChE Fuels & Petrochemicals Division since June 2019. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Managing Engineer at Exponent since September 1991. In this role, they investigated fires and explosions at various facilities and conducted analysis on atmospheric releases and spills. Chris also contributed to the development of test programs and engineering analysis for indoor air quality examinations.

Chris Buehler, PhD, PE completed their education in Chemical Engineering. Chris earned a Bachelor's degree from Villanova University from 1980 to 1984. Chris then pursued their Masters and PhD at Purdue University from 1984 to 1991. In addition to their academic achievements, they have obtained several certifications as a Professional Engineer (PE) from institutions such as the Colorado Division of Professions and Occupations, the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board (LAPELS), the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs, the Wyoming Board of Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors, and the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. Chris'smost recent certification was obtained in March 2020.
