Rachel Kelly

Rachel Kelly has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Rachel is currently working as a Scientist at Exponent since 2022. Prior to this, they pursued a PhD at the University of Southern California from 2016 to 2022, where they conducted detailed elemental and isotopic analysis of trace metals in environmental and biologic samples using mass spectrometry systems. Rachel also led a collaborative investigation on assessing hazardous contaminants.

Before their PhD, Rachel worked as a Research Assistant and Challenge Course Facilitator at the University of South Carolina from 2014 to 2016. Rachel also held the position of Pioneer Village Director at YMCA Camp Kern for a brief period in 2014.

Rachel gained experience in outdoor education and counseling by serving as a Senior Counselor at YMCA Camp Kern in 2013 and 2012. During this time, they led and mentored children in week-long overnight camp experiences and collaborated with various entertainment franchises for themed camp experiences.

Additionally, Rachel worked as a Summer Naturalist at WAVE Foundation - Newport Aquarium in 2010.

Overall, Rachel Kelly has showcased their expertise in scientific research, environmental analysis, leadership, and mentoring through their diverse work experience.

Rachel Kelly attended the University of South Carolina from 2012 to 2016, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Science. In May 2016, they also received a Doctor of Philosophy in Geological Sciences from the University of Southern California.
