Sarah Whitten

Sarah Whitten currently serves as Senior Vice President for the China and Transformational Exports Program at the Export-Import Bank of the United States and holds a position as a Term Member at the Council on Foreign Relations. Previously, Sarah was Regional Manager for Financing & Implementation in Sub-Saharan Africa at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, focusing on securing financing for infrastructure projects. Sarah has extensive experience at Standard Chartered Bank, where roles included Global Account Manager and Diversity & Inclusion Council Chair, along with substantial experience in Debt Capital Markets and relationship management. Earlier career experience includes private banking at Merrill Lynch, specializing in asset allocation for high-net-worth clients. Sarah holds a Master's degree in International Business and Policy from Georgetown University, a Certified Director designation from the Institute of Directors South Africa, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University.
