Kwamise Long-Taylor is an experienced music educator and director, currently serving as Choral Director for the Gospel Choir at Olivet College since July 2022. Long-Taylor has been a Piano Teacher at Expressions Music Academy since January 2016 and has held the position of Choir Director/Pianist at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church until December 2023. Additional experience includes serving as Choral Director at North Farmington High School in 2016, Assistant Director of Music at Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit, and Assistant Conductor for the Oakland University Chorus. Long-Taylor was also the Artistic Director of the Detroit Metropolitan Youth Ensembles from 2007 to 2012, aimed at nurturing young musical talents. Earlier experience includes working as a General Music Teacher for Detroit Public Schools and a Transcriber at DR. K.T. Productions. Long-Taylor holds multiple degrees in music education, including a PhD in Music Education from Oakland University, alongside a Master of Music in Conducting and dual Bachelor degrees in Vocal Music Education and Vocal Ed from Wayne State University.
