ExtraFood
By rescuing excess fresh food from businesses, securing freshly-made meals, and immediately delivering the food to nonprofits serving the North Bay's most vulnerable children, seniors, and families, we address the critical issues of hunger, wasted food & climate change. ExtraFood's county-wide food recovery program picks up excess fresh food from any North Bay organization – such as restaurants, grocery stores and caterers – and immediately delivers it to nonprofits -- such as homeless shelters, food pantries, and after-school programs -- serving people facing food insecurity. Additional programs include our Community Meals program which works with restaurants and caterers to make meals and Share the Bounty, which rescues fruit and vegetables from backyards, community gardens, and farms. Our mission is to help end hunger and wasted food in the North Bay. Join us! To donate food, make a gift, volunteer, or receive food, please visit our website at ExtraFood.org.
