Sonal Shetkar has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Sonal started their career as an Intern at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, where they gained knowledge about network layouts and electrical systems in refineries. Sonal then interned at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, where they built a tracking system using RFID and smart card technology. After completing their internships, Sonal worked as a Teaching Assistant at Iridescent Learning, where they trained high school students in designing mobile app prototypes and business plans. Sonal also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Columbia University, assisting with course logistics and grading assignments. Sonal later joined Engineering Graduate Student Council as the Career and Alumni Chair, organizing technical events to educate engineering graduate students on career options. Sonal also conducted graduate research at EnHANTs, focusing on wireless sensing. Sonal then transitioned into the technology industry, working at OPNET Technologies as an Applications Engineer, providing product demonstrations and training to clients. Sonal continued their career at Riverbed Technology as a Systems Engineer, supporting the RPM product line. Currently, Sonal is employed at ExtraHop, where they have held several roles including Director of Sales Engineering - Majors and Sales Engineering Manager. Sonal Shetkar completed their MS in Electrical Engineering from Columbia Engineering in 2011. Prior to that, they obtained a B.E in Electronics and Telecommunications from the University of Mumbai in 2010. Their high school education was completed at The Indian High School, Dubai from 1996 to 2006. Additionally, they have received certifications such as The Leader Within Program from the Executive Women's Forum, Associate Cloud Engineer from Google, Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate from Amazon Web Services, and In & Out - Network Data Exfiltration Techniques from Black Hat.
