Mervin Govender

Mervin Govender is an accomplished professional in the mining industry with extensive experience in project management and operations. Currently serving as the General Manager of Project Management at Exxaro Resources since 2009, Mervin has played a key role in developing mega projects that enhance growth and revenue. Previously, Mervin held positions including Group Manager of Value Engineering and General Manager/Business Unit Manager at Grootegeluk Mine. Mervin's career also includes significant roles at Anglo American, where responsibilities included managing capital expansion projects. Mervin holds a Master's degree in Mining (with Distinction) and an MBA from prestigious institutions, along with multiple engineering qualifications from the University of Pretoria and Stellenbosch Business School.
