Chris Heynes

Chris Heynes currently serves as the VP of Process Development and Manufacturing at Eyconis, Inc., a spin-off from Ascendis Pharma, since March 2024. Previously, Chris held multiple roles at Ascendis Pharma, including Senior Director and Head of Process Development and Manufacturing US, from December 2018 to the present. Prior experience includes ten years at Genentech as Principal Engineer and Drug Product Technical Lead, focusing on oncology and lytics products, and managing technical transfers and regulatory interactions. Chris also worked at POINT Biomedical Corporation as a Scientist/Engineer, where responsibilities included process development for ultrasound contrast agents. Earlier career roles encompassed contract positions at Xoma, Sugen, and Systemix, and as an Associate Scientist at Codon/Berlex Biosciences, specializing in fermentation, cell culture, and bioprocess development. Chris Heynes holds a degree in Biochemistry/Cell Biology from UC San Diego.
