Vitor Pamplona has over 19 years of work experience. In 2001, they began their career as a Software Engineer at Totall.com S.A. Vitor then moved to Progressiva Informática Ltda. in 2003, where they served as a Software Architect. In 2003, they also co-founded the JavaFree Java UserGroup, where they were an Evangelist. In 2006, they became a Research Assistant at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, where they worked on computer graphics, human eye, user-interaction and bio-physical modeling and simulations. In 2009, they joined the MIT Media Lab as a Visiting PhD. Student, where they worked on human eye, opthalmology, hardware prototyping, and optics. In 2011, they became the Chief Executive Officer of EyeNetra, where they also served as a Member of the Board of Directors and Co-Chief Executive Officer. In 2014, they became the Chief Technology Officer of Blink Vision Testing, a spinoff from EyeNetra. In 2015, they joined the SciBr Foundation as President and Member of the Board of Directors. In 2019, they returned to the MIT Media Lab as a Research Associate, where they worked on the Split-Learning project. In 2020, they joined the PathCheck Foundation as Chief Technology Officer, where they provided deep expertise on paper-based Verifiable QR code Credentials.

Vitor Pamplona's education history includes a Bachelor of Computer Science from FURB - Universidade de Blumenau (2001-2005), a Master of Computer Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2006-2008), a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2008-2012), and a Visiting Researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Lab (2009-2011).
