Shamendra Sirisena

Shamendra Sirisena is an experienced professional with a diverse range of roles in the technology industry. Shamendra is the CEO and Founder of NOWI, a company they started in 2022. Prior to this, they were the Head of Engineering - Portal Development & UX at Eyeonid Group AB, where they led product renovation, transformation, and optimization. Shamendra also led the development and redesigning of the portal and conducted product research and experimentation. Before that, they worked as a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer at Utvecklarbolaget and as a Senior Software Engineer at Pomelo, specializing in banking solutions and fintech.

Shamendra has also held positions at OneConnect Financial Technology as a Development Lead, where they worked on channels and eKYC projects in the fintech sector, and at DBS Bank as a Developer/Lead, where they built a serverless gamification platform. Shamendra has also worked as a Senior Application Consultant at Optimum Solutions (S) Pte Ltd, focusing on banking solutions in fintech, and as an Architect at Standard Chartered Bank within the SC Ventures Projects division. Additionally, they worked as a Senior Developer/Lead at SC Ventures by Standard Chartered, specializing in retirement planning, finance, and wellness in wealth tech.

Outside of their professional roles, Shamendra has served as a Country Ambassador for the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP), specifically within the International Young ICT Professional Group. Before that, they earned a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from the same institution, studying from 2008 to 2011.
