Rocio Wu

Venture Partner at F-Prime Capital

Rocio Wu is a Venture Partner at F-Prime Capital focused on early-stage investments in software/applied AI, fintech and frontier tech investments. Prior to joining F-Prime Capital, she was at Liquid 2 Ventures, founded by NFL hall of fame quarterback Joe Montana, where she invested in seed-stage companies. Before that, she worked at Google in corporate development evaluating strategic investments and acquisitions for ads & commerce, hardware (Fitbit acquisition), and Waymo. She also led product GTM strategy, marketing and growth at Google and Amazon in Spain, China, Japan, and the U.S.

Rocio is a community builder, and is involved in multiple groups that support the involvement of women and minorities in technology, including Xooglers, Female Founders/Funders, and LatAm entrepreneurs. She is also actively involved in Harvard’s technology strategy initiatives, writing case studies and articles for TechCrunch. Rocio holds a B.A. from Shanghai International Studies University (joint program with Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Spain) and a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Born in Shanghai, Rocio has worked in Colombia, Spain, Japan, and the U.S., and grew up speaking four languages and enjoys the value in cultural contrasts. She learned something valuable from each of the places she lived – the importance of hustling and hunger (Silicon Valley), the value of authentic relationships (Spain and Colombia), how to build long-term, focused partnerships (Japan), and the importance of a strong work ethic (China). Her approach to investing similarly respects the value in differences. Conflicting ideas breed innovation, and building bridges between seemingly unrelated fields leads to advantageous discoveries.
