David Garrett

David Garrett has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. David'smost recent role is as the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Fabric Cryptography since January 2023. David is also an Advisory Board Member at MECPS UCI since January 2023.

Prior to their current roles, David held multiple positions at Syntiant Corp. from November 2017 to January 2023. David served as the Senior Vice President of Engineering, Chief Architect, and VP of HW Engineering. At Syntiant Corp., they played key roles in engineering leadership and architectural design.

Before joining Syntiant Corp., David worked at Broadcom Limited from September 2007 to November 2017. During this time, they held the positions of Distinguished Engineer and Associate Technical Director. David contributed to the delivery of 802.11ax silicon and was granted numerous US patents. David also had expertise in digital signal processing (DSP) design and led research competitions and committees.

David's earlier experience includes working at Beceem Communications as the Director of Engineering - System from April 2004 to July 2007. David managed a team responsible for WiMax reference designs and led technical projects across multiple sites.

David began their career at Lucent - Bell Laboratories as a Member of Technical Staff from January 2000 to March 2004. David conducted research on multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) receiver architectures and contributed to the development of innovative Turbo Code architectures.

David's career started at Lockheed Martin as a Design Engineer from June 1994 to December 1997. David was part of the Engineering Leadership Development Program and obtained a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) while working full-time.

Overall, David Garrett has a comprehensive background in engineering leadership, architectural design, and technical research, with expertise in various communication systems and VLSI design.

David Garrett's education history includes multiple degrees in the field of Electrical Engineering. David obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from the University of Virginia in 1994. Later, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree at the University of Vermont, graduating in 1997. Following this, David pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Virginia, which they completed in 2000. More recently, in 2022 and 2023, they attended Wharton Executive Education for a CTO Program.
