Jeff Nelson

Director of Materials Development at Fabric8Labs

Jeff Nelson has a strong background in process engineering and materials development. Jeff is currently the Director of Materials Development at Fabric8Labs, a position they have held since March 2023. Prior to this, Jeff worked at MicroConnex from 2016 to 2023, where they served as the Process Engineering Manager. At Modumetal, Inc. from 2013 to 2016, they held the role of Senior Process Development Engineer, focusing on the development of electrodeposited metal coatings. Jeff also has experience as a Senior Scientist at MicroConnex from 2008 to 2013, where they worked on process improvements to enhance part yield. Jeff served as the CTO at MicraMetal from 2008 to 2013, leading efforts to commercialize a novel computer-aided spot plating tool. Jeff started their career as a Senior Process Engineer at Intel from 1999 to 2002, specializing in thin films. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Engineer at Twenty-First Century Research from 1996 to 1999, managing the design and construction of a hydrocarbon oxidation reaction system. Overall, Jeff's experience spans various industries, and they have a proven track record of implementing process improvements and driving innovation.

Jeff Nelson earned their B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington, which they attended from 1993 to 1996. Later, they pursued further education and obtained a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the same university, completing their studies from 2002 to 2007.
