Ekta Rayani is a biochemical engineer who currently works at FabricNano. Prior to this, they worked as a researcher and PhD student at UCL, where their responsibilities included project management, experimental design and data analysis, review of literature, and communicating scientific research at local and national conferences. Ekta has experience in optimising recombinant protein production and scale-up with microbial fermentation (E.coli) at bench and pilot scale, which includes analytical methods such as HPLC and FPLC techniques for protein purification. Ekta is also experienced in designing experiments in response to the characterization of novel enzymes, optimisation of analytical chemistry methods (FT-IR, NMR, SEM, Particle size analysis, rheological analysis) and general biochemistry principles (RT-PCR, cloning, molecular biology techniques, western blotting). Before their work at UCL, Ekta worked as a production technician at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust from June 2017 to September 2017. Her first professional experience was as an intern at Prosetta Biosciences Inc from June 2014 to August 2014.
Ekta Rayani accomplished a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Biochemical Engineering from UCL, a Master of Science - MS in Biochemical Engineering from UCL, and a Bachelor of Science - BS in Biochemistry from the University of Westminster.
