Joy Shimura has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. In 1994, they started as an On-Air Intern/Assistant at KSFM 102.5, a radio station in Sacramento. From 1996 to 1998, they worked as a Public Relations Assistant at the San Francisco Opera, where they gained experience in the field.

In 2006, Joy joined The Claremont Hotel, Club & Spa as a Spa Front Desk Associate and later became a Spa Operations Manager. Joy also served as a Corporate Catering Sales Manager during their time there, from 2010 to 2013.

In 2013, Joy transitioned into the beauty industry and attended the Cinta Aveda Institute as an Esthiology Student.

In the following years, they gained experience in different roles at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, including Esthetician and Spa Concierge from 2014 to 2015.

In 2015, Joy furthered their career as a Medical Aesthetician & Patient Care Counselor at Advanced Aesthetic - Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. Joy also joined the Claremont Club & Spa, A Fairmont Hotel as a Spa Services Manager and later became a Spa Sales Manager.

Currently, Joy is working at Face Reality Skincare, starting as an Acne Expert Success Team Specialist in 2021. Joy has since progressed to an Associate Communications Manager and is now the Communications Manager.

Joy Shimura, LE has a varied education history. Joy attended the University of California, Davis from 1992 to 1996, where they studied Political Science. Following this, in 1998, Joy enrolled at Miss Marty's School of Beauty and completed a program in Cosmetology/Cosmetologist, General, which lasted until 2000. In 2013 to 2014, they attended the Cinta Aveda Institute, obtaining a Certification in Esthiology.

In terms of additional certifications, Joy Shimura became a Certified Acne Expert in March 2021. Joy obtained this certification from Face Reality Skincare.
