David Burnett is a dedicated public health professional currently serving as a Summer Educator and New Roots Fellow at New Roots Institute, focusing on education and advocacy related to environmental injustices from factory farming. Previously, David gained experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Utah Asia Campus and as a Case Manager Intern at New Arrivals Institute, where support was provided to refugee and immigrant communities. David's involvement with the UNCG Center for Housing and Community Studies included serving as a resource for equitable living environments, and earlier roles at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro encompassed serving as a Campus Tour Guide and Upper Class Mentor, as well as participating in data collection on COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy. David holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Utah and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
