Sven Blankenhorn

Sven Blankenhorn is an experienced independent consultant specializing in sustainable aquaculture and fisheries. Since November 2014, Sven has operated in various capacities, including as a Senior Fisheries Consultant for Indonesia's pole and line and handline fisheries improvement projects, where responsibilities include coordinating FIP activities and stakeholder engagement. Sven has also served as an Aquaculture and Fisheries Coordinator for Fair Trade USA, representing the organization in Southeast Asia and promoting adherence to Fair Trade standards among fisheries. Previously held roles include General Manager at Darden Aquasciences SDN BHD and Mariculture Advisor at Mars Symbioscience Indonesia, focusing on sustainable business models and community engagement. Sven's academic background includes a PhD in Marine Ecology from the University of Bremen and a degree in Biology from Ulm University.
