Dorothy Vittner

Dorothy Vittner, PhD, RN, FAAN, serves as an Associate Professor and Post Masters DNP Program Director at Fairfield University since September 2019. Previously, Dorothy held the position of Director and Senior NIDCAP Trainer at the Carolina NIDCAP Training Center from August 2018 to August 2019, and worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Connecticut from July 2017 to September 2018. Dorothy has extensive experience in quality management services at the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services from January 2007 to June 2017, and served as Co-Director and NIDCAP Trainer at Connecticut Children's Medical Center from September 2007 to August 2013. In an earlier role, Dorothy was a Developmental Nurse Educator and NIDCAP Trainer at the University of Connecticut Health Center from 1990 to 2006. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Nursing from the University of Connecticut (2013-2016), an MSN in Nursing Education from the University of Hartford (2006-2008), and a BSN from Western Connecticut State University (1986-1990).
