Elizabeth Vanderweide has over 25 years of experience in marketing and business development. Elizabeth began their career in 1993 as the Principal of Event Video. In 1994, they became President of Practical Matters. From 1997 to 2001, they were the Marketing Manager at Martin's Point Health Care, where they won a Healthcare Informatics award for the nation's first robust patient/doctor portal. In 2001, they were a Digital Marketing Intern at Empire BlueCross BlueShield HealthPlus. From 2002 to 2004, they were the Marketing Director at PPG Industries, where they led marketing communications in a turn-around initiative and developed a brand tree. In 2006, they were the Marketing Director at Irving Oil, where they created and implemented strategic marketing plans for commercial energy services. From 2007 to 2008, they were the Director of Annual Giving at MaineGeneral Health. Finally, from 2008 to present, they have been the Director of Business Development and Chief Marketing Officer at the Finance Authority of Maine, where they directed business development and marketing communications to deliver the mission and strategic goals of the organization, as well as launching the Harold Alfond College Challenge.
Elizabeth Vanderweide has obtained a MBA from Penn State University, majoring in Marketing, Finance, and Entrepreneurship. Elizabeth also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA from the University of Southern Maine. In addition, they have obtained a Facilitation Certification from the University of Maine in September 2016 and a Leadership Maine Certification from the Maine Development Foundation in June 2013.
