Family of Kidz
Alexandra Vernice is a dedicated school psychologist currently working at Family of Kidz since August 2023. Prior to this role, Alexandra accumulated extensive experience in behavioral health as a registered behavior technician at Proud Moments ABA, providing home-based therapy for children on the Autism Spectrum. Alexandra's clinical training includes serving as a psychology extern at Northwell Health, a graduate assistant at St. John's University, and completing a school psychology externship at Valley Stream 30 Union Free School District, where responsibilities included counseling, testing, and intervention support for students. Additionally, Alexandra has worked as a student therapist and ABA instructor, gaining diverse experience in therapeutic practices and behavioral interventions for children. Alexandra's educational background includes ongoing doctoral studies in School Psychology at St. John's University, complemented by master's degrees in School Psychology and Mental Health Counseling, and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Hofstra University.

Our focus is on establishing a strong understanding of the individual’s needs and teaching them skills that lead to greater independence and an enhanced quality of life. Our multi-disciplinary team provides a wide-variety of therapeutic and educational services that include Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), special instruction, and related services including speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and mental health services. As a team, we are committed to helping those with special needs overcome barriers to progress and develop new skills.
