Frances Lau, CFA, CPA, serves as the Head of Direct Investment at a Family Office since January 2018, overseeing the entire investment process including deal sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, and exit strategies, with a focus on late-stage VC and private equity across various sectors. Prior experience includes a managerial role in Transaction Services at KPMG China from February 2016 to January 2018, and serving as Regional Financial Controller for SMCP from March 2014 to January 2016. Frances Lau's career began at PwC with progressive responsibilities in Transaction Services and Assurance between September 2010 and March 2014, alongside a summer internship in Risk Management & Compliance at HSBC in 2009. Academically, Frances Lau holds an LLM in Corporate and Financial Law from The University of Hong Kong, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance & Economics from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and participated in an International Student Exchange Programme at The University of Texas at Austin.
