Marvin Davis

Chief Financial & Operations Officer at Felton Institute

Marvin Davis is a Senior Executive with more than 25 years of professional accounting, audit, tax, financial consulting and management experience in the nonprofit and small business sectors.

Mr. Davis joined Felton Institute in 2004 as a turnaround consultant tasked with restructuring the financial operations of the organization. Shortly thereafter, he accepted the position of Controller and served in that role for seven years. In February 2013, he was promoted to Chief Financial Officer (CFO), with overall management and oversight of financial operations. In July 2017, Mr. Davis was promoted to Chief Financial and Operations Officer (CFOO), where he now additionally has management and oversight for the operations of Felton’s IT, Quality Assurance, Real Estate, Facilities, and Adult and Senior Service Divisions. As Felton’s CFOO, Mr. Davis is instrumental in strategically leading and implementing the necessary processes and procedures for the often-changing regulatory and compliance requirements, agency-wide growth initiatives, program expansions, and new strategic partnerships. In addition, Mr. Davis strategically managed the financial growth of Felton’s annual budget from $10 million to $30 million over the past 10 years; a milestone accomplishment for one of the most diverse funded non-profit agencies in the Bay Area.

Prior to joining Felton Institute, Mr. Davis operated his own accounting and consulting firm, L&L Business Solutions, specializing in accounting and consulting services to various small to mid-size businesses and nonprofits, with a focus on financial operation management, audits, and accounting system implementation and design. Mr. Davis played a critical role in developing the internal audit structure for the Salvation Army’s Golden Gate Division, serving over 15 counties.

Prior to managing his own consulting firm, Mr. Davis worked as a Senior Accountant for Grant, Smith & Vincent, CPA’s, and for Brown, Armant, Gibson & Associates as an auditor, tax preparer and financial accountant.

Mr. Davis serves on the Board of Directors of Mt. Diablo Soccer Association.

Mr. Davis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Cal State University at Hayward.
