Kevin Ward

Kevin Ward is an experienced software engineering leader, currently serving as the Director of Software Engineering at FamilySearch.org since April 2006. In this role, Kevin oversees teams developing match technologies utilizing AI and large language models, Restful APIs for various users, and internal engineering tools, while also promoting employee programs within the organization. Previously, Kevin held the position of Senior Development Manager at FamilySearch.org, where the focus was on creating an open API and an open-source desktop genealogy client. Prior experience includes engineering management and software engineering roles at Novell, Inc. and Evans & Sutherland Computer Corporation, as well as a brief tenure as an Electrical Engineer at IBM. Kevin earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Utah.
