Julia Kropp focuses her litigation practice on technology clients, specifically in representing companies in the hardware, software, semiconductor, and solar industries. She represents public and private corporations in litigation as both defense and plaintiff’s counsel. Julia is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) - the global gold standard for privacy professionals accredited by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

As a practitioner, her clients appreciate her responsiveness and her interpersonal skills. Julia is known for her communication skills, her ability to synthesize complex situations down into key, actionable tasks, and above all, her ability to listen, a capability often in short supply among litigators.

Julia’s experience has emphasized the day-to-day, foundational work that is the framework of effective litigation. In this role, Julia has worked particularly closely with expert witnesses, helping them prepare reports, getting them up to speed on key information, and preparing them for depositions and testimony. She is also experienced in dispositive motion practice. Julia has been instrumental in a successful trial and in settlement conferences.

Julia also has significant experience in trademark-related matters. Her role encompasses counseling clients on trademark-related strategy and planning, and their pursuit and protection of trademarks and logos.

She maintains an active pro bono practice, where most recently she secured a settlement for a client litigating under the Federal Tort Claims Act, and she previously assisted a client settle a matter in probate litigation. She also previously served as a legal intern for the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).
