William R. Friedrich, a member of the firm since 1971, is an experienced general litigator whose practice emphasizes insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. Bill has extensive experience in handling both first party claims (e.g., property damage, business interruption, health, and disability) and third party liability claims (e.g., construction, directors and officers, professional errors and omissions, and general liability). Representative clients range from individuals in need of medical benefits to major corporate and governmental entities such as Albertsons, Applied Materials, Pacific Telesis, the Port of Oakland, and Raychem.
The majority of Bill's professional time is devoted to resolving insurance-related issues and disputes arising in connection with multi-party, complex civil litigation (e.g., class actions, intellectual property, employment liability, and environmental claims). He has mediated a number of insurance disputes, and also has served as an arbitrator, including international arbitrations.
