Mark J Laabs serves as Chairman and Managing Director of Modern Energy since January 2016, focusing on sustainable energy solutions. Mark has held various leadership roles, including Executive Chairman and Managing Director at Pattern.org, and Chairman at both the Rare Cancer Research Foundation and Faro Energy, contributing to advancements in clean energy and healthcare. Additionally, Mark is involved with Pave Power, facilitating electrification for commercial fleets. Previous positions include Chief Operating Officer at Soligent Holdings Inc. and Chief Operating Officer at Climate Bridge, where Mark managed diverse clean energy projects globally. Mark co-founded Slow Food Shanghai and Serial Suppers, promoting sustainable food practices. Mark's academic background includes a BA in International Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University.
