FARWIND ENERGY
FARWIND ENERGY is a spin-off of Centrale Nantes, one of the world leading university for marine renewable energy research. Farwind Energy is a pioneering company of far-offshore wind energy capture and delivery solutions, using energy ship technology, a disruptive technology for offshore wind energy conversion. It was founded in July 2020 by Aurélien Babarit (co-inventor of the technology and former researcher at the Ecole Centrale de Nantes), Arnaud Poitou (former director of the Ecole Centrale de Nantes), and Félix Gorintin (former Director of Operations at the INNOSEA design office). FARWIND ENERGY is growing rapidly and now has a team of 15 people and aims at producing its first ship in 2024. The company is supported by the innovation cluster Atlanpole, French public investment bank Bpifrance and the economic development subsidiary Airbus Développement as well as ESA BIC.
