Ahmad R. Shahid

Ahmad R. Shahid, PhD has a diverse work experience in various academic and research roles. Ahmad R. is currently working as a Co-PI at the Artificial Intelligence Diagnostics (AID) Lab, FAST-NU, Islamabad Campus, where they have secured significant research funding for multiple projects. In collaboration with other institutions, they have worked on projects related to the application of artificial intelligence in vascular disease management.

Ahmad also holds the position of Professor (Computer Science) at FAST-NUCES, where they lead large teams of researchers and developers. Ahmad R.'sareas of specialization include technical management, natural language processing, computer vision, deep learning, and artificial intelligence.

Before joining FAST-NUCES, Ahmad served as the Principal Investigator at the Medical Imaging and Diagnostics Lab, National Center of Artificial Intelligence. Prior to that, they were an Assistant Professor at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology.

Additionally, Ahmad has experience as the Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Abasyn University, Peshawar Campus, where they were responsible for improving the quality of education and overseeing faculty and staff.

Earlier in their career, Ahmad worked as an Assistant Professor at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, focusing on teaching, research, and administrative tasks. Ahmad R. also worked as a PhD student at the University of York, where their research focused on language processing.

Outside of academia, Ahmad worked at Covance Market Access Services Inc. as a Health Economics Associate, involved in mathematical modeling and programming for health outcomes research. Ahmad R. also briefly worked as an A1 Assessor Trainee at Creative Minds.

Ahmad R. Shahid, PhD, has a strong educational background in computer science and engineering. Ahmad R. obtained their PhD in Natural Language Processing (Computer Science) from the University of York from 2007 to 2011. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science at Michigan State University from 2000 to 2002. Ahmad R. also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila, where they studied from 1993 to 1998.
