Elizabeth Ondula currently serves as an Assistant Professor in Computer Science at Winthrop University, a position held since August 2025. Prior to this, Elizabeth gained extensive teaching experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Southern California from August 2021 to July 2025, where responsibilities included courses in Software Development, Database Systems, and Robotics. Additional roles include serving as an Event Fund Fellow at Code for Science and Society and Director of Civic Engagement for the Black Graduate Student Network. Elizabeth's research experience encompasses a Research Scientist internship at IBM focused on deep learning and a mentorship role at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering. Elizabeth holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Technical University of Kenya.
