Mohammad Jamil Usmani has extensive experience in teaching and lecturing. Mohammad Jamil began their career in 1998 as a Senior Lecturer at Sir Syed University of Engg. & Tech., where they taught various courses in Mathematics and Statistics for 11 years. During this time, they taught BS students from various engineering disciplines.
From 2000 to 2007, Usmani served as a visiting Lecturer at ALIGARH Institute of Technology, Karachi. Mohammad Jamil also had a brief stint as a visiting Lecturer at Bahria University from 2004 to 2005.
