Christina Nishiyama, MBA, SPHR

Christina Nishiyama, Ph.D., SPHR has a strong background in people and culture management. From 2023-present, they serve as the Vice President of People & Culture at Fasteners Inc Professional Contractor Supply. Prior to this, Christina worked as an Instructor at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas starting in 2021. In this role, they taught various courses in management and human resource certification programs. From 2017-2023, Christina held the position of Vice President at Bienati Consulting Group, Inc. Their responsibilities included overseeing HR operations. Before that, they worked as the Director of Human Resources at MGM Resorts International from 2015-2017. From 2011-2015, Christina served as the Director of Human Resources & Finance at The Mob Museum. Their prior experience also includes working as the Corporate Human Resources Manager at Tropicana Entertainment Inc. from 2009-2011 and as a Senior Technical Recruiter at Axis Technical Group from 2007-2008.

Dr. Christina Nishiyama, SPHR, has an extensive education history. Christina began their academic journey at UC San Diego from 2001 to 2005, earning a Bachelor's degree in Economics/Psychology. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at San Diego State University from 2005 to 2006, specializing in Management.

Having a strong passion for learning, they embarked on a Ph.D. program at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas in 2018. Currently, they are still pursuing their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree, which does not specify a specific field of study.

In addition to their impressive educational background, they have also obtained several certifications. In 2018, they earned the SHRM-CP certification from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Later that year, they obtained the SPHR certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI).
