Fernando Crespo Grávalos has a diverse work experience that spans over a decade. Fernando started their career as an intern at Gabitel Ingenieros S.L., where they worked on projects related to BTS installation and Digital Terrestrial Television extension.

Fernando then joined Nagra as an Integration Engineer, where they were responsible for system installation, networking, virtualization tasks, and maintenance.

Afterwards, they worked at Bitnami as a System Administrator, managing both cloud and on-premise infrastructure. Fernando also focused on configuration management, infrastructure automation, and monitoring. Later, they transitioned to the role of a Site Reliability Engineer at Bitnami, where they were involved in enabling Kubernetes and building tools for infrastructure automation.

Next, Crespo Grávalos joined NAGRA as a Site Reliability Engineer, specializing in maintaining systems and ensuring their reliability.

Fernando then worked at Tuenti as a Site Reliability Engineer, where they spent most of their time operating Kubernetes Clusters. This included creating automated pipelines for deploying helm charts and managing Kubernetes secrets using Vault.

Currently, Crespo Grávalos is employed at Fastly, initially as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer and later promoted to the role of Staff Site Reliability Engineer.

Fernando Crespo Grávalos obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from Universidad de Sevilla in 2013. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the same university, starting in 2004 and completing it in 2012. In addition to their formal education, Fernando obtained certifications in DevOps Essentials from LinuxAcademy.com in July 2015 and was a speaker at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2022, an event organized by The Linux Foundation in May 2022.
