Johnny Tan

Johnny Tan has a varied work experience spanning across different companies and roles. Johnny started their career at Columbia University Medical Center as a User Services Consultant from 1996 to 1998. Johnny then moved to Weill Cornell Medical College, where they held the positions of Senior Support Technician from 1998 to 2000 and Senior Unix Manager from 2000 to 2002.

Afterwards, Johnny joined UCLA as a Programmer/Analyst II from 2005 to 2006. Johnny then worked at Klipmart and DoubleClick as a Linux Systems Administrator for brief periods in 2006.

In 2007, Johnny joined Lime Wire, LLC as a Linux Systems Administrator and later as a Senior Linux Systems Administrator. Their responsibilities included deploying new music subscription services in Amazon Web Services cloud, maintaining 24x7 operations of online properties, managing Technology Operations staff, handling budget and vendor relations, and migrating services to highly-available servers.

Following their time at Lime Wire, Johnny worked at Rent The Runway as a Manager of Technical Operations for a brief period in 2011. Johnny then joined Paperless Post as the Director of Technical Operations from 2011 to 2018. Their role involved overseeing technical operations for the company.

Their most recent position is at Fastly, where they are the Senior Engineering Manager of Edge Cloud Operations since 2018.

Johnny Tan attended Weber State University from 1990 to 1995 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics.
