Kay Rechthien

Kay Rechthien has a diverse and extensive work experience in the technology and networking industry. Starting in 2007, they served as a Fachinformatiker Systemintegration at Energy Net GmbH until June 2009. From July 2009 to February 2014, they worked as a Network Engineer at Netsign. In March 2014, they joined ECIX as the Chief Technology Officer until December 2017, during which they also held the position of Network Engineer from an unknown start date to February 2014. In 2017, they became the VP of Network Development at Megaport for the entirety of that year. From January 2018 to November 2021, they worked as a Senior Network Architect at Akamai Technologies. Since October 2019 until November 2021, they have been a Board Member at Euro-IX. Additionally, since March 2018 until November 2022, they have served as a Board Member at BCIX. Currently, from December 2021 onwards, they hold the position of Staff Engineer, Network Planning & Acquisition at Fastly.

From 2007 to 2009, Kay Rechthien attended Heinrich-Emanuel-Merck-Schule Darmstadt, where they pursued a degree in Fachinformatiker Systemintegration, specializing in IT.
